The Apex BGMI Championship - Ultimate Encounter

“It’s not the team with the best players that win, it’s the players with the best team that wins”. University Esports tournaments organized in association with MOGO are turning out to be one of the most sought-after championships among university esports teams. MOGO India is the first and most prominent esports university championship organizer and promoter in the Indian esports ecosystem. The Apex BGMI championship is an example of one such association that has led to the birth of another incredible tournament. The Apex BGMI Championship was conducted at Apex University in association with MOGO. Around 250 teams participated in this tournament to battle it out in the game Battlegrounds Mobile India. The tournament was played over 15 days with teams being slotted into two major Pools, POOL A & POOL B. Each Pool consisted of 6 sub-pools with 18 teams each and only 6 teams from each sub-pool qualified to pool X & pool Y where teams would compete with each other again and only 9 teams each advanced from pool X & Y for the semifinal encounter. 18 teams in total played the semifinals in pool A & pool B. The top 9 teams from each pool then went on to the last and final stage of the tournament which was the Apex BGMI Finals. Every team that participated made attempts to fight for the title. University teams always come in with surprises due to the young breed of gamers who always want to innovate and play to win. MOGO is happy to have this association with Apex University and is willing to push every esports tournament for the benefit of the esports community in the near future. After 15+ days of non-stop action Pranam Patel, Ansh Charde, Yogendra Singh & Subhadip Dey drove their team to victory. We have often seen in the past that top esports teams deny recognition to the upcoming and

emerging talents in the esports circuit. MOGO India strives to break these obstacles and will time and again push the best talents in the university circuits to the limelight that they deserve. Esports is a growing community and top- viewed sport amongst the millennials. The success of the Apex BGMI Championship is a wake-up call for all universities to push their students to do well in the realm of esports. It is time for every university to make the most of this opportunity and organize more and more events at the university level to pluck out the best talents that India has.
